Australia to build 18 Landing Craft vessels for the navy

The Australian government has placed a order with Austal Defence Shipbuilding Australia Pty Ltd to build 18 Landing Craft vessels.

The Australian government has awarded Austal Defence Shipbuilding Australia Pty Ltd with contract to build the Royal Australian Navy 18 Landing Craft vessels in Australia.

Both the government and company have claimed all 18 Landing Craft vessels will be delivered to the Royal Australian Navy before 2032.

These new Landing Craft will allow Australia to undertaken Amphibious operations and transport troops, supplies and military vehicles like tanks and IFV from Australian warship to land.
